The Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi and RMI India recently conducted a webinar, “Accelerating Fleet Electrification in Delhi,” under the Switch Delhi electric vehicle (EV) mass awareness campaign. The webinar brought key industry players together to discuss the progress of the Delhi EV Policy on fleet electrification so far.

Eighty-five percent of vehicles sold to date under the Delhi EV Policy are for commercial purposes. Developing a conducive environment for electric fleets is thus critical for the state. In the webinar, experts discussed the pathway to electrifying commercial vehicles in Delhi for final-mile delivery, ridehailing, and more. The panelists explored a range of challenges, including EV model availability, charging infrastructure, and finance, along with potential solutions.

The webinar also featured special remarks on Delhi’s vision for electrification of fleets from Jasmine Shah, Vice Chairperson of the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi, and Ashish Kundra, Principal Secretary-cum-Commissioner, Transport, Government of NCT of Delhi.
